Parks and Recreation Advisory Board applications available through Oct. 28

AUBURN, Ala.- The Auburn City Council is accepting applications to fill two vacancies on the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board. Both terms will begin Dec. 1 and end Nov. 30, 2028.

The Parks and Recreation Advisory Board makes recommendations to the Parks and Recreation director, the city manager, the mayor and the city council concerning the direction, supervision and promotion of recreation programs that contribute to the general welfare of Auburn residents.

The board consists of seven members that serve four-year terms. To qualify for appointment, applicants may not be employees of the City of Auburn and must be qualified electors of the City of Auburn. The board meets the first Tuesday of each month at 11:45 a.m. at the Harris Center.

Those interested in serving are invited to apply online using the link at auburnalabama.org/boards. Applications will be accepted until 5 p.m. on Oct. 28. The City Council will make appointments at its Nov. 5 meeting.
